Growing Your IRA - What Are the Investment Options
Many investment options are available for an IRA. When compared to a 401k, an IRA gives users more choices; most companies, however, give customers a default option. Various things should be considered before making investments. Consider your savings goals, your current situation, and your retirement age. Individual securities are available to users as well, such as stocks, mutual funds, CD or certificates of deposit, bonds, and exchange-traded funds.
Collectables options are very specific; all items cannot be used as an investment option. Items, such as pieces of art, various antiques, gems and metals, vintage stamps and rare coins, and beverages that are alcoholic, are investment options. There are some exceptions as well; a gold or silver coin must be issued from the state.
